My car will be in the repair shop for the next month to have my transmission replaced, will my RENTAL REIMBURSEMENT pay for a rental car while it is in the shop?
Unfortunately, NO.
Scheduled maintenance or repairs are not covered by your RENTAL REIMBURSEMENT coverage on your policy, but this valuable endorsement to your policy WILL pay for a rental car if you vehicle was damaged as a result of a covered loss, like an accident, deer hit, theft, etc, up to the amount per day and time limit as displayed on your policy declaration page.
I am going to Florida on a vacation for 3 weeks, and will be renting a car while I’m there. Am I covered if I rent a car?
The same liability limits and deductibles as your full coverage vehicle will transfer over to any private passenger rental car you rent within the united states.
When you sign your rental agreement, You will be offered the COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER which will cover you for LOSS OF USE of that rental car if it was in an accident and unable to be rented to others while it is being repaired and put back in service. DIMINISHED VALUE is also included and will cover the difference in the value of the car once it has been in an accident. The coverage would also waive your deductible. The price of the collision damage waiver varies, usually between $10 and $40 a day, and is based mostly on the value of the car you are renting, and the period of time you are renting it for.
